M.S.Public School ("we", "us", "the school") runs this website (https://msps.co.in) and the school's parent mobile app, which is provided by our software partner School Alarm. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
1. Information we collect
- Student and parent details kept by the school for admission and school work: student name, class, section, roll number, date of birth, photo, parents' names, mobile numbers, email and address.
- School records of the student: attendance, fee and payment records, receipts, marks and results, homework, timetable, notices and certificates.
- Messages sent between parents and the school through the app (chat, feedback, enquiries) and the details you fill in on the website's admission or contact forms.
- App and device information: a notification token so the app can receive school notifications, and basic technical information (app version, device type) needed to keep the app working and secure.
The parent app does not access your location, contacts, call logs or SMS. It uses the camera or photos only when you choose to send a picture, and only that picture is uploaded.
2. How we use the information
- To run the school: admission, attendance, fees, examinations, transport and communication with parents.
- To show parents their own child's information in the app and send school notifications (notices, fee reminders, results, messages).
- To take fee payments online through our payment partner (for example Razorpay). Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the payment partner's secure page; the school does not store them.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not show advertisements in the app or use the information for advertising.
3. Who can see the information
- Authorised school staff, each only for their own work.
- Our service providers who help us run the website, app, SMS / WhatsApp messages, notifications (Google Firebase) and online payments, only to provide that service to the school.
- Government or legal authorities when the law requires it.
A parent signs in with the mobile number registered with the school and sees only their own children's information.
4. How we protect it
The information is stored on secured servers, sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and protected by passwords and access control. Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form.
5. How long we keep it
Student records are kept for as long as the student studies at the school and afterwards for the period that school rules and the law require (for example for transfer certificates and fee records).
6. Your choices and rights
- You can ask the school to see or correct your child's information.
- You can turn off app notifications in your phone settings, sign out, or uninstall the app at any time.
- You can ask us to delete your app account and the information that the law does not require us to keep, by writing to us at the contact below.
7. Children
The app is meant for parents and guardians. Information about students is collected by the school for school purposes, with the consent of their parents.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
